This F-Frame breaker installs into Eaton and Cutler-Hammer Series C panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers. It is commonly used in Pow-R-Line 3a (PRL3a) distribution panels.
How does the HFD3110 differ from the FD3110 and FDC3110?
The difference is the maximum interrupting capacity (AIC) at 480VAC. The standard FD3110 is rated for 35kA, the HFD3110 is rated for 65kA, and the FDC3110 provides a 100kA rating.
What is the modern Power Defense replacement for the HFD3110?
Facilities upgrading to the newer Eaton Power Defense platform can replace this unit with catalog number PDG23M0110TFFJ. Note that installing a Power Defense breaker into older Series C equipment requires updated mounting hardware.
Can the HFD3110 be reverse fed?
Yes. Standard thermal-magnetic Eaton Series C F-Frame circuit breakers are suitable for reverse feed applications.
Is this 110A Eaton breaker HACR rated?
Yes, all Eaton Series C F-Frame molded case circuit breakers carry an HACR rating, making them suitable for overcurrent protection in heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment circuits.
Can this 3-pole breaker be used in a single-phase application?
Yes. When using this 3-pole breaker for a 2-pole or single-phase application, Eaton recommends wiring the load using the two outside poles.
