Built for heavy-duty commercial use, the Eaton EHB2040 2-pole, 40A molded case circuit breaker delivers reliable long-time and instantaneous (LI) protection with a 14kAIC rating at 480Y/277VAC. This bolt-on breaker mounts into Eaton Pow-R-Line C panelboards and is fully compatible with legacy Westinghouse F-Frame systems. It crosses over to the EHD2040 replacement SKU. The Eaton EHD2040 is the direct manufacturer recommended replacement for the EHB2040. Both are 40-amp, 2-pole breakers, but the EHD series is the current F-Frame equivalent for legacy EHB applications.
Can I install the EHB2040 in a standard residential load center?
No. The EHB2040 is a commercial bolt-on circuit breaker designed specifically for Eaton Pow-R-Line C and legacy Westinghouse F-Frame panelboards. It is not compatible with standard plug-on residential load centers.
Are the lugs on the EHB2040 rated for aluminum wire?
Yes, the standard load lugs accept both copper and aluminum conductors ranging from 14 AWG to 2 AWG. Always apply a listed oxide inhibitor when terminating aluminum wiring.
What does the 480Y/277VAC rating mean for the EHB2040?
This slash voltage rating indicates the breaker is only suitable for solid-grounded wye systems where the line-to-ground voltage does not exceed 277V. It cannot be used on 480V ungrounded or corner-grounded delta systems.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
