Product FAQs
5 answersWhich panelboards accept the Federal Pioneer NB231100FED circuit breaker?
This breaker is designed specifically for Federal Pioneer NB series commercial panelboards, including NBLP, NBC, NBDP, and CDP models. It will not fit in standard residential plug-on Stab-Lok load centers.
Can I use the NB231100FED to replace an older Federal Pioneer NB3100?
Yes, the NB231100FED is the direct manufacturer replacement for the obsolete NB3100 catalog number. It shares the exact same physical dimensions, bolt-on mounting, and electrical specifications.
Does this breaker use a plug-on or bolt-on connection?
Unlike residential Stab-Lok breakers, the NB series features a heavy-duty bolt-on mounting design. It fastens directly to the panelboard bus for a secure mechanical and electrical connection in commercial applications.
How does the thermal magnetic trip unit function on this breaker?
The fixed thermal magnetic mechanism provides LI protection. The thermal component offers long-time delay protection against sustained overloads, while the magnetic component delivers instantaneous tripping during severe short circuits.
What wire material is compatible with the load side lugs on this breaker?
The factory-installed load side lugs are dual-rated for both aluminum and copper conductors, accepting wire sizes from 4 AWG up to 2/0 AWG.
