This breaker is designed for use in GE A-Series commercial panelboards, including AQ, AE, AL, and AD lighting panels. It mounts directly to the busbar using a bolt-on connection.
Can I install the TEY245 in a standard GE PowerMark Gold load center?
No. The TEY245 is a bolt-on circuit breaker for commercial A-Series panelboards. It will not fit into residential PowerMark Gold or Plus load centers, which require plug-on THQL or THQP breakers.
What is the recommended lug tightening torque for the TEY245?
The torque depends on the wire size used. For 10 AWG wire, torque to 35 in-lb. For 8 AWG wire, torque to 40 in-lb. For 6 AWG to 4 AWG wire, torque to 45 in-lb.
Can this breaker be used in a 480V Delta system?
No. The TEY245 has a slash rating of 480Y/277V, meaning it is only suitable for solidly grounded wye systems where the voltage to ground does not exceed 277V. It is not rated for ungrounded or corner-grounded 480V Delta systems.
Is the TEY245 suitable for direct current applications?
Yes, this breaker carries a DC interrupting rating of 10kA at 250VDC, making it suitable for specific direct current circuits.
Is there a higher interrupting capacity version of the TEY245?
Yes. If your application requires a higher fault current rating at 480Y/277V, you can use the TEYF245 for 18kAIC or the TEYL245 for 65kAIC.
Does the TEY245 mount to a standard DIN rail?
No, the TEY245 is a bolt-on molded case circuit breaker designed specifically to bolt directly to the busbar in compatible GE panelboards. It does not have a DIN rail mounting clip.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
