Product FAQs

5 answers
Which panelboards are compatible with the THLC134030 circuit breaker?

This bolt-on breaker is designed for use in GE A-Series panelboards, as well as compatible GE switchboards and motor control centers.

What wire sizes are accepted by the lugs on the THLC134030?

The factory lugs accept 14 to 3 AWG copper wire or 12 to 1 AWG aluminum wire. Ensure proper torque specifications are followed during installation to maintain a secure connection.

How does the current limiting feature of the THLC134030 operate?

As a current limiting breaker, it is designed to clear a fault in less than half a cycle. This rapid response reduces the peak let-through current and energy, providing enhanced protection for downstream equipment during high-fault conditions.

Why is this breaker listed under both ABB and General Electric?

ABB acquired GE Industrial Solutions in 2018. As a result, the THLC134030 may be branded as either GE or ABB, but the physical breaker, specifications, and panel compatibility remain identical.

What type of protection does the fixed thermal magnetic trip unit provide?

The trip unit includes long-time and instantaneous (LI) functions. The thermal component provides delayed tripping for sustained overloads, while the magnetic component trips instantaneously to clear severe short circuits.
