This breaker is designed for bolt-on installation in GE A-Series panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers.
The included lugs accommodate 6 AWG to 2/0 AWG copper (Cu) wire, or 4 AWG to 2/0 AWG aluminum (Al) wire.
Current-limiting breakers are engineered to clear short circuits extremely fast, typically in less than a half-cycle. This rapid action restricts the peak let-through current and energy, protecting downstream equipment and allowing the breaker to achieve a 200kAIC rating at 480V.
It is part of the GE THLC1 frame family, which has a maximum frame rating of 150 amps. This specific model is configured with a fixed 90-amp trip unit.
No, this breaker features a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. Both the long-time (thermal) and instantaneous (magnetic) trip functions are factory-set and non-adjustable.
The 200kAIC rating ensures the breaker can safely interrupt massive fault currents up to 200,000 amps at 480V without sustaining catastrophic damage. This is critical for industrial facilities with high available fault currents from large transformers or generators.
