Product FAQs

6 answers
What equipment is the GE TB13050 circuit breaker compatible with?

This TB1 frame breaker is designed for use in GE switchboards, motor control centers, and GE A-Series panelboards. Verify your specific enclosure accepts unit mount, feed-thru breakers before installation.

Does the TB13050 plug directly into a panelboard bus?

No, this is a unit mount, feed-thru circuit breaker. It does not plug into a busbar. It requires standalone or bolt-on mounting and uses wire lugs for both the line and load connections.

What wire sizes are accepted by the lugs on the TB13050?

The factory lugs accept wire gauges from 14 AWG up to 1/0 AWG. They are rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors. Ensure proper torque specifications are followed during installation to prevent thermal issues.

How does the current limiting feature of the TB13050 work?

As a Tri-Break current limiting circuit breaker, it is designed to clear high-level fault currents extremely fast. This reduces the peak let-through current and thermal energy, providing enhanced protection for downstream equipment and wiring.

Why is this breaker listed as both ABB and General Electric?

ABB acquired GE Industrial Solutions in 2018. As a result, TB1 series breakers like the TB13050 may be branded as either GE or ABB, but they share the exact same form, fit, and function.

What safety procedures are required before installing this breaker?

For safety and compliance with NFPA 70E, all power to the switchboard, motor control center, or panelboard must be completely de-energized, locked out, and tagged out before installing or servicing the circuit breaker.
