What wire sizes are accepted by the standard lugs on the JL3B275?
The factory lugs accept copper or aluminum conductors ranging from 4 AWG up to 350 kcmil. When terminating aluminum wire, ensure you apply a listed joint compound to prevent oxidation and torque the lugs to the manufacturer specifications printed on the breaker faceplate.
How does the adjustable magnetic trip function on this breaker?
The JL3B275 features a thermal-magnetic trip unit with a fixed thermal element for long-time overload protection and an adjustable magnetic element for instantaneous short-circuit protection. The adjustable dial allows electricians to fine-tune the instantaneous trip threshold to coordinate with downstream devices and prevent nuisance tripping from motor inrush currents.
Is it safe to use this 275A breaker on a 480V system with a 30kA available fault current?
Yes. The JL3B275 has an interrupting rating of 35kA at 480VAC, which safely exceeds a 30kA available fault current. Always verify the maximum available fault current at the specific panel location to ensure it does not exceed the breaker rated interrupting capacity for your system voltage.
Is the ITE JL3B275 the same as the Siemens JL3B275?
Yes. Siemens acquired ITE and continued manufacturing many of the same frame sizes under the Siemens brand. A JL3B275 breaker will have the exact same physical dimensions, mounting hardware, and electrical characteristics whether it carries an ITE or Siemens label.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
