No. The BF120 is a bolt-on circuit breaker designed specifically for commercial Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards. Residential load centers typically require plug-on breakers like the QPF series.
What is the ground fault trip threshold for this breaker?
The BF120 provides Class A ground fault protection, which means it trips when a ground fault of 5mA or greater is detected. This sensitivity is required for personnel protection in wet or damp locations.
How do I wire the neutral connection for the BF120?
This breaker features a coiled pigtail neutral wire that must be connected directly to the neutral bus bar in your panelboard. The neutral wire from your dedicated load circuit then lands on the neutral terminal located on the breaker itself.
What is the difference between the BF120 and the BE120 breakers?
The BF120 is a Class A GFCI with a 5mA trip threshold intended for personnel protection. The BE120 is a Ground Fault Equipment Protection (GFEP) device with a 30mA trip threshold, designed to protect equipment from damaging line-to-ground faults rather than protecting people from shock.

Is the BF120 suitable for 240V equipment?
No. The BF120 is a single-pole breaker rated for 120VAC only. If you need ground fault protection for a 240V circuit, you will need a two-pole GFCI breaker from the BF series, such as the BF220.
Can I use the BF120A to replace a BF120?
Yes. The BF120A is the direct, updated replacement for the legacy BF120. Both are 20A, single-pole, bolt-on GFCI breakers that fit the exact same Siemens commercial panelboards.
Is the BF120 interchangeable with standard BL series breakers?
They share the same physical dimensions and fit the same bolt-on panelboards, but standard BL breakers like the B120 do not include ground fault protection. You must use the BF120 if the specific circuit requires GFCI personnel protection.
Can I use the BF120 to meet arc fault (AFCI) code requirements?
No. The BF120 provides ground fault protection (GFCI) only. It will not detect arc faults. If your circuit requires Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) protection, you must use an AFCI breaker, such as the B120AF, or a dual-function AFCI/GFCI breaker.
