No. The BQ3B030 is a bolt-on circuit breaker engineered for commercial panelboards, such as the Siemens P1, P2, and P3 series. It will not fit in standard residential load centers that require plug-on breakers like the QP or EQ series.
Will the Siemens BQ3B030 directly replace a legacy ITE breaker with the same catalog number?
Yes. Siemens acquired ITE and maintained the BQ frame dimensions and catalog numbering. The current Siemens BQ3B030 is a direct, UL-listed replacement for older ITE BQ3B030 breakers installed in ITE panelboards.
Is the BQ3B030 circuit breaker HACR rated?
Yes. This breaker carries an HACR rating, making it compliant for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment that requires HACR-approved overcurrent protection.
Does this 30A breaker carry an SWD rating for switching lighting circuits?
No. While 15A and 20A single-pole BQ breakers carry the SWD (Switching Duty) rating for 120V fluorescent lighting, the 3-pole 30A BQ3B030 does not hold an SWD rating.
How does the BQ3B030 differ from the BQ3B030H or HB3B030?
All three models share the same physical frame and mounting style, but they differ in their short-circuit interrupting ratings. The standard BQ3B030 is rated at 10kAIC. The BQ3B030H is rated at 22kAIC, and the HB3B030 is rated at 65kAIC. You must verify your system's available fault current before substituting.
Are lugs included on both sides of the BQ3B030?
No. As a bolt-on breaker, the line side mounts directly to the panelboard bus bar using a bolted connection. Terminal lugs are only provided on the load side for your branch circuit wiring.
What is the difference between the BQ3B030 and the BQD330?
Both are 30A, 3-pole bolt-on breakers, but they have different voltage ratings and panel applications. The BQ3B030 is rated for 240VAC maximum, while the BQD330 is rated for up to 480Y/277VAC. They are not interchangeable.
Can I install a handle padlock on the BQ3B030 for maintenance safety?
Yes. Siemens manufactures external handle blocking and padlocking accessories compatible with the BQ frame. These allow you to safely lock the breaker in the OFF position during maintenance or lockout/tagout procedures.

Expedited Shipments
