This bolt-on breaker is designed for direct installation into Siemens P1, P2, and P3 lighting and distribution panelboards, as well as compatible switchboards.
How does the ED43B090 compare to the ED63B090?
Both breakers share the same 90-amp ED frame and physical dimensions, but the ED63B090 offers a higher 25kA interrupting capacity at 480VAC compared to the 18kA rating of the ED43B090.
Can the ED43B090 be used in direct current (DC) systems?
Yes. In addition to alternating current applications, this 3-pole breaker is rated for up to 250VDC with a 30kA interrupting capacity for use in DC distribution networks.
Does the ED43B090 include line and load lugs?
This model comes standard with factory-installed load lugs (part number LN1E100) that accept 10 to 1/0 AWG copper or aluminum wire. Because it is a bolt-on breaker, the line side mounts directly to the panelboard bus and does not include lugs by default.
Are shunt trips and auxiliary switches field-installable on this breaker?
Yes. The ED frame design allows for the field installation of internal accessories, including shunt trips and auxiliary contacts.
Are the thermal and magnetic trip elements adjustable on the ED43B090?
No. This breaker features a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit (LI function). The overcurrent and instantaneous short-circuit parameters cannot be field-adjusted.
Is the ED43B090 suitable for reverse-feed installations?
Yes. All Siemens ED-frame circuit breakers can be reverse connected, allowing electricians to feed power from either the top or bottom terminals without derating the breaker.

Expedited Shipments
