This breaker is engineered to bolt directly onto the bus bars of Siemens P1, P2, and P3 distribution panelboards, as well as compatible Siemens switchboards.
Can this breaker be installed in a standard residential load center?
No. The ED63B020 is a commercial-grade bolt-on breaker for distribution panels and switchboards. It will not fit into standard residential load centers that require plug-on styles like QP or QT breakers.
Can the ED63B020 be reverse fed?
Yes. Like all standard Siemens ED-frame circuit breakers, this model can be reverse connected. This allows you to wire the line side to either the top or bottom terminals depending on your specific panel layout.
Are the load terminals included with the breaker?
Yes, it comes equipped with standard load lugs (part number SA1E025). The lugs accept 14 to 10 AWG copper and 12 to 10 AWG aluminum conductors, which covers typical 20-amp branch circuit wiring.
What does the LI trip function indicate?
The LI designation means the breaker provides Long-Time (thermal) overload protection and Instantaneous (magnetic) short-circuit protection.
Are the thermal and magnetic trip points adjustable?

As a standard capacity ED-frame breaker, the fault-clearing ability decreases as system voltage increases. It provides 65kAIC at 240VAC, drops to 25kAIC at 480VAC, and offers 18kAIC at 600VAC.
Is this breaker suitable for direct current (DC) applications?
Yes, the thermal-magnetic trip mechanism is tested and rated for DC systems. It carries a 30kAIC interrupting rating for DC applications up to 250VDC.
