Built to handle demanding electrical loads, this 15A two-pole molded case circuit breaker ensures precise thermal-magnetic tripping. It is engineered for bolt-on installation within Siemens P1, P2, and P3 commercial panelboards. When sourcing replacements, note that this Sentron frame model is officially replaced by the HEG2B015B. The breaker accepts 14-1/0 AWG wiring via included TA1EG10 load side lugs. It boasts a 65kA interrupting rating at 480VAC and is fully HACR and HID rated.
Can I use the HEB2B015B in a standard load center?
No, this breaker features a bolt-on connection specifically designed for commercial and industrial Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards. It is not compatible with standard residential plug-on load centers.
Is the HEB2B015B suitable for both AC and DC electrical systems?
Yes, this thermal-magnetic breaker is highly versatile. It supports AC voltages up to 600VAC (with a 25kAIC rating) and is also rated for DC applications up to 125/250VDC (with a 42kAIC rating), making it suitable for a wide range of industrial environments.
What are the wiring requirements for the HEB2B015B lugs?
The breaker comes with factory-installed lugs that accept 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG conductors. Because the lugs are rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) wire, panel builders have flexibility when routing field wiring.
How does the LI trip function operate on the HEB2B015B?
The LI (Long-Time and Instantaneous) designation means the breaker uses a fixed thermal element to protect against gradual overloads (Long-Time) and a fixed magnetic element to trip immediately during severe short circuits (Instantaneous).
What is the difference between the Siemens NEB and HEB frame breakers?
Both belong to the same Sentron frame group and share physical dimensions, but the HEB frame offers a higher interrupting capacity. For example, at 480VAC, the HEB provides 65kAIC compared to the standard NEB rating of 35kAIC.
How does the HEB2B015B mount into the panelboard?
This breaker utilizes a bolt-on mounting style, which provides a secure, bolted connection to the busbars in compatible Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards, ensuring reliable performance in high-vibration commercial environments.
