What is the difference between the Siemens HHED62B040 and the standard ED62B040?
The prefix indicates the interrupting capacity. The HHED6 series provides a high interrupting rating of 65kAIC at 480V AC. The standard ED6 is rated for 25kAIC at 480V AC. Both share the same physical ED frame footprint and mount into the same panelboards.
Can the HHED62B040 be used in direct current applications?
Yes, this thermal magnetic breaker is rated for up to 250V DC with an interrupting capacity of 30kAIC. For 250V DC systems, Siemens requires wiring one pole on each leg of the supply circuit.

Yes. Standard Siemens ED frame thermal magnetic breakers without factory-sealed line and load markings are UL listed for reverse feed applications, allowing power to flow from the OFF end toward the ON end.
Are the trip settings adjustable on the HHED62B040?
No, this breaker uses a fixed thermal magnetic trip unit. Both the long time and instantaneous trip functions are factory set and cannot be adjusted in the field. The trip unit is also non-interchangeable.

Expedited Shipments
