Product FAQs
7 answers
Is the HLXD63B600H a direct replacement for older Siemens breakers?
Yes, this breaker replaces the older HLD63B600H model. Both are 600A, 3-pole, LD frame breakers, but the HLXD63B600H features the updated Sentron design.
Are mounting lugs included with the HLXD63B600H?
No. The "B" in the catalog number indicates that this breaker is supplied without lugs. You must purchase compatible LD frame lug kits separately, such as the TA2J6500 for aluminum or copper wire, or the TC1J6600 for copper wire only.
What does the "H" at the end of the HLXD63B600H catalog number signify?
The final "H" indicates that this is a 100 percent rated circuit breaker. It is capable of continuous operation at its full 600A capacity when installed in an enclosure approved for 100 percent rated devices.
What is the difference between the LXD6 and HLXD6 series?
The "H" at the beginning of the HLXD6 catalog number designates a high interrupting capacity. The HLXD63B600H provides up to 65kAIC at 480VAC, whereas standard LXD6 breakers offer lower fault current ratings.
Which panelboards and switchboards are compatible with this breaker?
The HLXD63B600H is designed for unit-mount installations in Siemens P4 and P5 panelboards, as well as Sentron switchboards and standalone enclosures.
Is the trip unit on this breaker interchangeable?
No, the HLXD63B600H features a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit. While the magnetic trip threshold is adjustable, the thermal element and the trip unit itself cannot be swapped out.
How is the magnetic trip adjusted on this breaker?
The magnetic trip function can be adjusted using the dials located on the front face of the trip unit. This allows you to fine-tune the instantaneous short-circuit response to match your specific load requirements.
