This bolt-on breaker is designed for use in Siemens P1, P2, and P3 series panelboards. Note that for P1 panels, the interior must be configured to accept xGB or NGB frame breakers.
Can the NGB1B040B be used to replace older BQD breakers?
While NGB and BQD breakers share a 1-inch per pole footprint and are often used in the same P1, P2, or P3 panelboards, they have different interrupting ratings and branch kit requirements. Verify your panelboard's interior configuration and required fault current ratings before substituting.
What safety mechanism is built into the NGB frame toggle?
The NGB frame features an overcenter toggle mechanism that is trip-free. If a short circuit or overcurrent condition occurs, the contacts are forced apart and the breaker cannot be held closed by the handle.
Can this breaker be mounted on a DIN rail?
No. While the similar NGG frame can be DIN rail mounted, the NGB frame is specifically configured with a bolt-on line end for panelboard mounting applications.
Does this breaker provide adjustable trip settings?
No, the NGB1B040B features fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip elements for long-time and instantaneous (LI) protection. It cannot be field-adjusted.
Are the load-side lugs on the NGB1B040B removable?
Yes, the load-side lugs are removable and interchangeable. This allows for customer-supplied connections or alternate lug kits if field modifications are required.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
