Product FAQs
6 answers
Is the NGG2B045L still actively manufactured by Siemens?
Siemens has phased out the NGG frame circuit breakers. The direct successor product line recommended by Siemens is the 3VA41 series. However, NGG2B045L breakers are still widely sourced for existing panel replacements and spares.
Are the line and load lugs included with the NGG2B045L?
Yes, this breaker comes with factory-installed line and load lugs, specifically part number TC1GG20. These lugs accept 8 to 1/0 AWG copper or 8 to 2/0 AWG aluminum conductors.
What is the ambient temperature calibration for this breaker?
The NGG2B045L is calibrated for a maximum ambient operating temperature of 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit), which is standard for Siemens thermal-magnetic molded case circuit breakers.
How is the NGG2B045L mounted inside a panel?
This is a unit-mount breaker that does not plug into a busbar. It can be installed using standard screw mounting on a back-pan or snapped directly onto a standard 35mm DIN rail within compatible Siemens enclosures, control panels, or switchboards.
Can this breaker be used in direct current (DC) control circuits?
Yes, the NGG2B045L carries a DC rating of 125/250VDC with an interrupting capacity of 14kAIC, making it suitable for battery banks and compatible direct current applications.
What does the LI trip function code mean on the NGG2B045L?
The LI designation indicates that the breaker provides Long-Time and Instantaneous trip functions. It uses a fixed thermal element to protect against overloads (Long-Time) and a fixed magnetic element to protect against short circuits (Instantaneous).
