The Q1530 is a CTL (Circuit Total Limiting) breaker. It features a rejection clip and is designed to fit only in load center slots specifically notched to accept tandem breakers. If you need a non-CTL version for an older panel, you will need the Q1530NC.
Can I use the Q1530 to replace an older Murray tandem breaker?
Yes. Siemens has phased out the Murray brand, and the Q1530 is the direct, UL-listed replacement for the obsolete Murray MP1530 tandem breaker.
How does a tandem breaker like the Q1530 save space in a panel?
A tandem breaker provides two independent single-pole circuits in the space of one standard one-inch panel slot. The Q1530 provides one 15-amp circuit and one 30-amp circuit without requiring a subpanel.
Are the two circuits on the Q1530 internally tied together?
No. The 15A and 30A circuits on this tandem breaker operate independently. They do not have a common trip mechanism, meaning an overload or short circuit on one pole will not automatically trip the other.
Is this breaker suitable for switching fluorescent lighting loads?
Yes, the 15-amp pole on the Q1530 is SWD (Switching Duty) rated, meaning it can be safely used on a regular basis to switch fluorescent lighting circuits on and off.
Can the Q1530 be used for HVAC equipment?
Yes, this breaker is HACR rated. This makes it suitable for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment that requires a Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration rating.
Does the Q1530 provide AFCI or GFCI protection?
No. The Q1530 is a standard thermal-magnetic breaker. It does not provide Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) or Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protection.
What wire sizes are compatible with the Q1530 tandem breaker?
The lugs on this breaker accept 14 to 6 AWG copper wire, or 12 to 6 AWG aluminum wire. It also features Insta-Wire connectors for faster installation.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
