Manufactured for standard residential and light commercial use, this three-pole 25-amp Type QP device delivers reliable thermal-magnetic overcurrent protection. It serves as an exact, UL-listed substitute for discontinued Murray MP325 units, maintaining full code compliance. The unit mounts into Siemens load centers and features Insta-Wire connectors to reduce termination time. An HACR rating makes it suitable for dedicated heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration circuits.
Which load centers are compatible with the Siemens Q325?
The Q325 is a Type QP plug-in breaker designed for Siemens 3-phase load centers and panelboards. It is also commonly approved for use in legacy Murray, Gould, and Sylvania enclosures that accept standard 1-inch interchangeable plug-on breakers. Always check your panel interior label for UL-approved replacement types.
How much panel space is required to install the Q325?
This 3-pole breaker requires three standard 1-inch spaces, taking up a total of 3 inches on the bus bar of a compatible load center.
Is the Q325 breaker HACR rated for HVAC equipment?
Yes, Siemens Type QP breakers are HACR rated. The Q325 can be safely used for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration applications that specify a 25A, 3-pole overcurrent protection device.
What wire sizes are approved for the Q325 terminals?
The lugs on this breaker are rated to accept 10 to 8 AWG copper (Cu) conductors or 10 to 6 AWG aluminum (Al) conductors.
Can this breaker be used in 3-phase commercial systems?
Yes, the 3-pole configuration and 240VAC rating make it suitable for 3-phase power distribution in light commercial, industrial, and residential applications requiring thermal-magnetic protection.
What is the difference between the Q325 and a bolt-on breaker?
The Q325 is a Type QP plug-in breaker, meaning it snaps directly onto the panel bus bar. It cannot be used in panels that require bolt-on connections, such as those using Siemens Type BQD or BL breakers.
