Yes. The PowerPact BDA36080 is the direct, manufacturer-designated replacement for the obsolete F-frame FA36080. It mounts onto the same I-Line bus systems and offers equivalent or improved interrupting capabilities within a similar physical footprint.
How is the BDA36080 installed into an electrical panel?
This circuit breaker utilizes a plug-on I-Line connection on the line side. The integrated jaw contacts push directly onto the bus system of a compatible panelboard or switchboard, and a built-in mounting bracket secures it to the backpan. No line-side cabling is required.
What type of load side terminals are equipped on this breaker?
The load side (OFF end) features patented EverLink lugs. These specialized terminals are designed to compensate for the natural creep and thermal cycling of aluminum and copper conductors, maintaining a secure, low-resistance connection over time.
What is the recommended tightening torque for the EverLink load lugs?
When landing conductors on the BDA36080, tighten 14 AWG to 4 AWG wires to 44 lb-in (5 N.m). For larger 3 AWG to 2/0 AWG wires, torque the lugs to 80 lb-in (9 N.m).
What are the magnetic trip values for the BDA36080?
This thermal-magnetic breaker features a factory-sealed, fixed magnetic trip unit. The instantaneous short-circuit protection is calibrated with an 800A hold current and a 1200A trip current.
Does this breaker support field-installable internal accessories?
Yes. The PowerPact B-frame supports a variety of field-installable internal accessories. It includes dedicated accessory compartments for adding a shunt trip (MX) or undervoltage release (MN), as well as auxiliary switches (OF) or alarm switches (SD), without increasing the breaker's footprint.
How does the push-to-trip button work on the BDA36080?

Expedited Shipments
