The SA suffix indicates the breaker includes a factory-installed 120VAC shunt trip (110 to 130 VAC control voltage). This allows the breaker to be tripped remotely via a control circuit. Shunt trips and other internal accessories for Square D E-frame breakers are factory-installed only and cannot be added in the field.
Will the EGB34015SA fit in a Square D NQ or I-Line panelboard?
No. E-frame breakers like the EGB34015SA are designed exclusively for Square D NF panelboards, which support up to 480Y/277VAC. They are not compatible with NQ panelboards, which use QO or QOB breakers, or I-Line panelboards.
What is the difference between the EGB34015SA and the EDB34015SA or EJB34015SA?
The difference is the interrupting rating at 480Y/277VAC. The EDB is rated at 18kAIC, the EGB is rated at 35kAIC, and the EJB is rated at 65kAIC. All three share the same physical dimensions and mount in NF panelboards. The EGB34015SA can directly replace an EDB34015SA if a higher fault current rating is required.
Does the EGB34015SA offer equipment protection (EPD) or ground fault (GFCI) capabilities?
No. The EGB34015SA is a standard thermal-magnetic breaker providing long-time and instantaneous (LI) trip functions for overloads and short circuits. It does not provide ground fault or equipment protection.
Can I field-install an alarm switch on the EGB34015SA?
No. Internal accessories for Square D E-frame breakers, including alarm switches and auxiliary contacts, are not field-installable. They must be ordered from the factory. This specific model only includes the factory-installed shunt trip.
Can the EGB34015SA be used on a 240VAC or 120VAC system?
Yes. While it has a maximum voltage rating of 480Y/277VAC, it is fully rated for use on lower voltage systems, including 240VAC and 120VAC. When used at 120VAC or 240VAC, the interrupting rating increases to 65kAIC.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
