Description
Built for high-capacity distribution, the Square D EJB24045 is a 45A, two-pole miniature circuit breaker. It delivers consistent thermal-magnetic protection for branch circuits operating at 480Y/277VAC. This E-Frame breaker installs securely into Square D NF panelboards using a bolt-on mounting style. The included load-side lugs accommodate a wide range of wire sizes. This bolt-on breaker is designed specifically for use in Square D NF series panelboards. It mounts directly to the panel bus using a bolted connection.
Can the EJB24045 replace an EDB24045 or EGB24045 breaker?
Yes. The EJB24045 shares the same physical E-frame dimensions as the EDB and EGB models but offers a higher interrupting rating (65kA at 480Y/277V). It can safely replace lower-rated versions in NF panelboards.
Can I install this E-frame breaker in a Square D NQ panelboard?
No. Square D NQ panelboards are designed for QO and QOB series breakers. The EJB24045 is an E-frame breaker and will only fit NF series panelboards.
Is this breaker suitable for a straight 480V system?
No. The 480Y/277VAC rating indicates it is designed for solidly grounded wye systems where the voltage to ground does not exceed 277V. It is not rated for ungrounded or corner-grounded delta 480V systems.
What type of wire can be used with the EJB24045 terminals?
The factory-installed lugs accept both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors. Supported wire sizes range from 14 to 2/0 AWG for copper and 12 to 2/0 AWG for aluminum.
What does the LI trip function code mean on this breaker?
The LI designation stands for Long-Time and Instantaneous trip functions. Long-Time provides delayed tripping for standard overloads, while Instantaneous trips immediately during severe short circuits. Both settings are fixed on this model.
Does this breaker require a specific mounting hardware kit?
The breaker bolts directly to the bus of an NF panelboard. Standard mounting screws are typically included or retained from the panelboard bus structure, but no separate mounting kit is required for standard installation.
Does this breaker provide GFCI or AFCI protection?
No. The EJB24045 features standard thermal-magnetic trip technology for overload and short-circuit protection. It does not include ground fault or arc fault circuitry.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
