This E-frame breaker is strictly designed for use in Square D NF series panelboards. It is not compatible with NQ, I-Line, or standard load centers.
Can I substitute an EDB34045 or EGB34045 with the EJB34045?
Yes. The EJB34045 shares the exact same physical dimensions and mounting footprint as the EDB34045 and EGB34045. The EJB simply provides a higher interrupting capacity (65kAIC at 480Y/277VAC) compared to the standard EDB (18kAIC) and EGB (35kAIC) tiers.
What are the tightening torque requirements for the EJB34045 lugs?
For the integrated terminal lugs, torque the wire binding screws to 34.5 lb-in when using 14 AWG to 10 AWG conductors, and 49.6 lb-in when using 8 AWG to 2/0 AWG conductors.
Is the 480Y/277VAC rating suitable for 480V ungrounded delta systems?
No. Because this breaker carries a slash voltage rating of 480Y/277VAC, it is only UL listed for solidly grounded wye systems where the line-to-ground voltage does not exceed 277V. It cannot be used on 480V ungrounded or corner-grounded delta systems.
How many panel spaces does the EJB34045 require?
This three-pole E-frame breaker occupies three consecutive pole spaces on the NF panelboard bus.
What does the LI designation mean on the trip unit?
The LI code indicates that the thermal-magnetic trip unit includes fixed Long-Time (L) protection for sustained thermal overloads and fixed Instantaneous (I) protection for short-circuit faults. These settings are factory calibrated and are not field adjustable.
How does this breaker physically connect to the electrical panel?
The EJB34045 features a bolt-on connection type. It must be mechanically fastened directly to the NF panelboard bus using screws, which ensures a secure, high-conductivity joint suitable for commercial and industrial applications.

Expedited Shipments
