No. The FA34100 features an I-Line style plug-in connection designed exclusively for Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. It will not fit in standard QO or Homeline load centers, and it cannot be interchanged with standard lug-to-lug F frame breakers.
Will an I-Line FA34100 fit where a standard unit mount F frame breaker was installed?
No. Even though the physical frame size is similar, I-Line style plug-in breakers use a specific mounting foot and jaw connection designed to attach directly to bus stacks in I-Line enclosures. They cannot replace standard lug-to-lug unit mount breakers.
What are the fixed magnetic trip values for the FA34100?
This thermal magnetic circuit breaker has a factory preset magnetic hold current of 900 amps and a magnetic tripping current of 1700 amps.
How does the I-Line connection securely attach to the panelboard bus?
The I-Line breaker plugs directly onto the bus stack using blow-on style jaw connectors. During a short circuit, the magnetic forces cause the jaws to grip the bus tighter. A mounting foot on the back of the breaker then bolts to the mounting pan for physical security.
What wire sizes are supported by the load side lugs on the FA34100?
The factory installed load side lugs accept wire sizes from 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG for copper wire, and 12 AWG to 1/0 AWG for aluminum wire.
Is the FA34100 still actively manufactured by Square D?
The FA frame is a legacy molded case circuit breaker series that has been discontinued by Schneider Electric. For new installations or direct upgrades, Schneider Electric recommends migrating to the modern PowerPact B-frame or H-frame equivalents, such as the BDA36100 or HDA36100.
Can I upgrade an existing FA34100 breaker to a higher interrupting capacity without changing the frame size?
Yes. If your electrical system requires higher fault current protection, you can upgrade from the standard interrupting FA series to the high interrupting FH series. The FH series provides up to 65 kA at 240VAC and 25 kA at 480VAC within the same physical F frame footprint.

The Square D FA32100 circuit breaker (refurbished) was as good as a new breaker, without exception. There was no wear and tear or any marks at all. It was basically new. It is an excellent choice and a great product without having to pay the cost of a new breaker.
