Built for heavy-duty commercial environments, this 90A F-frame circuit breaker provides essential long-time and instantaneous trip functions. The device mounts into legacy Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. Because it only requires 3 inches of mounting space, it acts as the preferred replacement over the newer HGA36090, which demands a wider 4.5-inch slot. This breaker is designed exclusively for use in Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. It features an I-Line style plug-in connection on the line side and standard lugs on the load side.
Can I replace an FGA34090 with a newer PowerPact H-frame breaker?
While the PowerPact H-frame (such as the HGA36090) is the modern replacement for legacy F-frame breakers, it requires 4.5 inches of mounting space. The FGA34090 only requires 3 inches of mounting space. If your existing panel configuration is tight, you must use the legacy F-frame to fit the 3-inch slot.
What wire sizes do the load lugs on the FGA34090 accept?
The factory-installed load lugs accept copper or aluminum wire ranging from 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG.
What does the G in the FGA frame designation indicate?
The G denotes the interrupting rating tier for this specific F-frame breaker. It provides a 65kAIC rating at 240VAC and a 35kAIC rating at 480VAC.
How does the I-Line connection mount into the panel?
The breaker features plug-in jaws on the line side that press directly onto the I-Line panelboard bus assembly. The load side uses standard mechanical lugs for wire termination.
Is the trip unit on the FGA34090 adjustable?
No, this breaker features a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit. It provides standard Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) protection functions that cannot be field-adjusted.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
