This breaker is engineered specifically for Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. The line side features plug-on jaws that seat directly onto the panel bus, while the load side utilizes standard mechanical lugs.
Can the PowerPact HJA36125 replace older F-frame I-Line breakers?
Yes. The PowerPact H-frame occupies the same I-Line mounting space as Square D's discontinued F-frame breakers. It serves as a direct plug-on replacement for older 125-amp FA, FH, and FC series circuit breakers.
What are the wire size and torque specifications for the load lugs?
The factory mechanical lugs accept aluminum or copper conductors from 14 AWG to 3/0 AWG. Terminal tightening torque is 44.3 lb-in for 14 to 10 AWG wire, and 123.9 lb-in for heavier 8 to 3/0 AWG conductors.
Are the trip settings adjustable on this breaker?
No. The HJA36125 is equipped with a traditional thermal-magnetic trip unit providing fixed long-time and instantaneous protection. The magnetic hold current is factory set at 900A and the magnetic trip is set at 1700A.
Can this circuit breaker be used in direct current systems?
Yes. Alongside its standard alternating current ratings, the HJA36125 is UL listed for direct current distribution applications up to 250VDC.
What does the I-Line plug-in connection type involve?
I-Line is a specialized bus system from Square D. Breakers with an I-Line connection do not require bolt-on line cables or straps. Instead, the breaker snaps directly onto the panel bus via built-in phase jaws, significantly speeding up panel assembly.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
