Description
Operating within the PowerPacT H-Frame family, the Square D HJL26040 is a 40A, 2-pole molded case circuit breaker for industrial applications. This unit-mount breaker is compatible with Square D control panels, switchboards, and NQ or NF panelboards. It replaces legacy FAL26040 F-Frame breakers, though retrofitting may be required. You will need a main breaker adapter kit, such as the NQMB2HJ, to install this H-Frame breaker as a main in an NQ series panelboard.
Does the HJL26040 replace older Square D circuit breakers?
Yes, this PowerPacT H-Frame breaker is the direct replacement for legacy FAL26040 F-Frame breakers. Note that retrofitting or mounting modifications may be required when upgrading.
What is the recommended lug torque for the HJL26040?
For the standard AL150HD lugs, the recommended tightening torque is 44 lb-in for 14-10 AWG wire and 124 lb-in for 8-3/0 AWG conductors.
Can the HJL26040 be reverse fed?
Yes, PowerPacT H-Frame thermal-magnetic breakers are suitable for reverse-feed applications, allowing line connections on either the top or bottom terminals.
Can this breaker be mounted on a DIN rail?
Yes, it can be DIN rail mounted by using the Square D S29305 mounting adapter kit.
What is the difference between the HJL26040 and the HDL26040 or HGL26040?

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
