The U33X suffix designates a MicroLogic 3.3S electronic trip unit. This provides field-adjustable Long-Time, Short-Time, and Instantaneous (LSI) protection settings, allowing for precise coordination with other breakers in your distribution system.
Can the LDA36400U33X replace older 400A Square D I-Line breakers?
Yes, the PowerPacT L-Frame series is the modern replacement for obsolete LA, LH, and LC frame I-Line breakers. Note that the L-Frame requires 6 inches of mounting space, so replacing a smaller frame may require removing blank extensions or modifying the panelboard deadfront.
What tools are required for the load side lug connections?
The load side mechanical lugs accept 2 AWG to 500 kcmil aluminum or copper conductors. Securing these cables typically requires an 8 mm (5/16 inch) hex wrench. Always refer to the breaker faceplate for exact torque specifications during installation.
Is this circuit breaker rated for 100 percent continuous current?
No, the standard LDA36400U33X is rated for 80 percent continuous current. Breakers in this family with a 100 percent continuous rating will include a "C" suffix in the catalog number.
Does this breaker include a manual testing mechanism?
Yes, all PowerPacT L-Frame circuit breakers feature an integral push-to-trip button on the front cover. This allows electricians to manually trip the breaker to verify the mechanical operation of the trip mechanism.
Can this 3-pole breaker be used in a single-phase application?
PowerPacT L-Frame breakers equipped with MicroLogic trip units, such as the U33X, are marked for single-phase use on 240VAC circuits only. For 480VAC or 600VAC applications, they must be installed in a three-phase system.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
