The PowerPacT M-frame MGP36800 is designed to replace older Square D MA and MH frame circuit breakers. It provides a smaller installed footprint and upgraded electronic trip accuracy compared to traditional thermal-magnetic models.
Can the MGP36800 be installed directly onto an I-Line bus?
No, the MGP36800 is a unit-mount breaker with lug connections on both the line and load sides. For direct plug-on I-Line bus mounting, an MGA frame breaker is required. However, the MGP36800 can be installed as a main breaker in I-Line panelboards (HCP, HCN, HCM) when properly unit-mounted.
Is the MGP36800 rated for 100 percent continuous operation?
No, this breaker carries a standard 80 percent continuous current rating. Continuous loads lasting three hours or more must not exceed 640 amps, which is 80 percent of its 800A nominal rating.
How is the ET 1.0 electronic trip unit on the MGP36800 adjusted?
The ET 1.0 trip unit features fixed Long-Time (thermal) protection and an adjustable Instantaneous (magnetic) trip. The instantaneous pickup can be adjusted from 2 to 10 times the 800A nominal rating to coordinate with downstream devices.
Are the internal accessories for the MGP36800 interchangeable with other PowerPacT frames?
Yes, the M-frame shares common internal electrical accessories, such as shunt trips, undervoltage releases, and auxiliary switches, with Square D PowerPacT P-frame circuit breakers.
Can the electronic trip unit on the MGP36800 be swapped or upgraded in the field?
No, the basic ET 1.0 electronic trip unit is factory-installed and cannot be field-replaced or upgraded. If advanced metering or communication features are required, a different breaker series with a MicroLogic trip unit must be specified.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
