Yes. The PowerPacT MGA36800 is the designated direct replacement for the legacy MA36800. It fits the same I-Line panelboard spaces and offers upgraded basic electronic trip protection.
What type of trip unit is installed in this PowerPacT M-Frame breaker?
This breaker features a basic ET 1.0 electronic trip unit. It provides Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) protection, operating as an electronic equivalent to traditional thermal-magnetic trip units.
Can I adjust the trip settings on the MGA36800?
The continuous current (Long-Time) setting is fixed at 800 amps. However, the Instantaneous magnetic trip is adjustable, allowing you to set the short-circuit pickup range between 1600A and 8000A.
How are the line and load connections configured on the MGA36800?
The line side features an I-Line plug-on jaw connection for snapping directly onto the panel bus. The load side comes equipped with factory-installed AL800M23K mechanical lugs that accept three 3/0 AWG to 500 kcmil aluminum or copper wires per phase.
What is the recommended lug tightening torque for the load terminals on the MGA36800?
The factory AL800M23K load lugs should be torqued to 442.5 lbf-in (50 N.m) when securing the 3/0 AWG to 500 kcmil aluminum or copper conductors.
Can I use the MGA36800 in a standard unit-mount enclosure?
No. The MGA36800 features an I-Line plug-on line connection, making it exclusively compatible with Square D I-Line power distribution panelboards and switchboards. It cannot be used in traditional unit-mount or individual enclosure applications.
Are the ET 1.0 trip units field-replaceable on the MGA36800?
No. The basic ET 1.0 electronic trip unit is non-interchangeable and cannot be replaced or upgraded in the field.
Is the MGA36800 100 percent rated for continuous current?

Expedited Shipments
