This unit provides Class A ground fault protection. It is designed to trip when a fault current to ground is 6 mA or greater, which provides personnel protection against electrical shock.
How do I wire the pigtail neutral during installation?
The white pigtail wire must be connected directly to the neutral bus bar in your QO or NQ panelboard. The load neutral wire then connects to the neutral lug on the circuit breaker itself.
Will this breaker install in a Square D Homeline load center?
No. QO series breakers have a 3/4 inch width format and are not compatible with Homeline panels, which require 1 inch format circuit breakers.
Does this model require a Plug-On Neutral (PON) panelboard?
No. Because this breaker includes a factory installed pigtail neutral, it can be installed in legacy QO and NQ panels that do not feature plug-on neutral bus bars. It can also be used in modern PON panels by securely landing the pigtail on the neutral bar.
Can I use this 1-pole GFCI breaker for a multi-wire branch circuit (MWBC)?
No. A single pole GFCI breaker cannot be used on a shared neutral multi-wire branch circuit. A 2-pole GFCI circuit breaker is required for those specific applications.
How can I visually identify if this breaker has tripped in the panel?
This model features a Visi-Trip indicator. When the breaker trips due to an overload, short circuit, or ground fault, a highly visible red flag appears in the indicator window.
