No. The QO260 is a plug-on breaker designed exclusively for Square D QO load centers and NQ panelboards. It is not physically compatible with Homeline panels.
What is the difference between the QO260 and QOB260?
The QO260 features a plug-on mounting design for standard QO load centers. The QOB260 is the bolt-on equivalent, built primarily for commercial NQ and NQOD panelboards. Because of the different mounting methods, they are not interchangeable.
What is the required tightening torque for the QO260 lugs?
Square D specifies a tightening torque of 44.3 lb-in (5 N.m) for the box lugs when terminating 8 to 2 AWG copper or aluminum wire.
Is the QO260 suitable for use with HVAC equipment?
Yes. The QO260 is HACR rated, meaning it is thoroughly tested and certified for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration motor loads.
How does the Visi-Trip indicator work on this breaker?
When the breaker trips due to an overcurrent or short circuit, the handle snaps to a midpoint position and a highly visible red flag mechanically drops into a small window on the face of the breaker. This provides an immediate visual indication of a tripped circuit in a crowded panel.
Can the QO260 be used for backfeed applications?
Yes, standard thermal magnetic QO breakers can be backfed. However, if the QO260 is being used as a backfed main breaker, National Electrical Code (NEC) requires it to be mechanically secured to the bus bar using a panel-specific hold-down kit.
Is this breaker rated for DC voltage applications?
Yes. In addition to its standard AC ratings, the QO260 is listed for direct current systems up to 48VDC, providing a 5kA interrupting rating.

Expedited Shipments
