The QOT1515 is a Class CTL (Circuit Total Limiting) breaker equipped with a physical rejection clip that prevents installation in panel slots not rated for tandems. The QO1515 is a non-CTL breaker without this clip, intended strictly as a replacement part for older panels built before CTL standards were adopted.
Can I install the QOT1515 in any Square D QO load center?
No. The QOT1515 can only be installed in Class CTL Square D QO load centers that feature notched bus stabs. If the panel's mounting rail lacks these specific notches, the breaker's rejection clip will physically block the installation.
Will this breaker fit in a Square D Homeline electrical panel?
No. Square D QO and QOT series breakers are not interchangeable with the Homeline series. You must use Homeline tandem breakers, such as the HOMT1515, for Homeline load centers.
Why is the Class CTL rejection feature important for panel safety?
The rejection clip ensures that tandem breakers are only placed in panel positions specifically tested and approved for them. This prevents users from exceeding the maximum number of circuits the panel is rated to handle, which protects the electrical system from dangerous overloading and overheating.
Can I use the QOT1515 to replace a failed breaker in a pre-1968 non-CTL panel?
No. Older non-CTL panels do not have the notched bus bars required to accept the QOT1515 rejection clip. You will need a non-CTL tandem breaker, such as the QO1515, for legacy panel replacements.
Does the QOT1515 feature a tripped circuit indicator?
Yes, it includes the signature Square D Visi-Trip indicator. When the breaker trips due to an overcurrent or short circuit, a bright red flag appears in the indicator window, allowing you to quickly identify the faulted circuit.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
