6 answersWhat is the difference between GE THQP and THQL series breakers?
THQP breakers, like the THQP240, are half-size breakers measuring 1/2 inch per pole. THQL breakers are standard full-size breakers measuring 1 inch per pole. The 2-pole THQP240 takes up 1 inch of total panel space, whereas a 2-pole THQL breaker requires 2 inches. THQP breakers only fit in panel slots specifically designed for them.
Can I install the THQP240 in any GE Q-Line load center?
No. The THQP240 is a half-size breaker and will only fit in GE or PowerMark Gold panels that have specific slots designed to accept THQP breakers. Attempting to force a THQP breaker into a standard THQL-only slot can damage the bus bar.
What are the terminal torque specifications for the THQP240?
For the box lug terminals, tighten 8 AWG copper or aluminum wire to 40 in-lb, and 6 AWG to 4 AWG wire to 45 in-lb.
Is the THQP240 HACR rated?
Yes, the THQP240 is HACR rated, making it suitable for protecting compatible heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration circuits.
Does the THQP240 feature an internal common trip?
Yes, this 2-pole breaker features an internal common trip mechanism. If an overload or short circuit occurs on either leg, both poles will trip simultaneously to disconnect power.

Expedited Shipments
