This breaker is designed for installation in Eaton Pow-R-Line C panelboards and legacy Westinghouse panelboards that accept bolt-on E-frame circuit breakers.
Are Westinghouse and Eaton EB3040 breakers the exact same component?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse distribution equipment business in 1994. An Eaton EB3040 and a Westinghouse EB3040 are physically and electrically identical, allowing them to be used interchangeably in existing equipment.
What is the modern replacement for the EB3040?
The original EB series is obsolete. Eaton's current F-frame circuit breakers serve as the modern direct replacements, sharing the same physical dimensions and bolt-on mounting configurations for Pow-R-Line C panelboards.
Are the trip settings adjustable on the EB3040?
No. This breaker features a standard LI (Long-Time and Instantaneous) thermal-magnetic trip unit with fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip points. They cannot be field-adjusted.
What type of wire can be used with the EB3040 lugs?
The factory-installed lugs accept both aluminum and copper conductors ranging from 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG. Always apply an oxide-inhibiting joint compound when terminating aluminum wire to prevent corrosion.
Can the EB3040 be installed in a 480V system?
No. The EB3040 has a maximum AC voltage rating of 240VAC. For 480V or 480Y/277V applications, you must specify a differently rated E-frame or F-frame breaker, such as the Eaton EHD or FDB series.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
