Providing reliable thermal-magnetic trip functions, the Siemens B350H is a 3-pole, 50A molded case circuit breaker. It is engineered to protect commercial and industrial distribution systems from severe overloads and short circuits. This BLH-series unit mounts into Siemens P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5 panelboards via a secure bolt-on connection. The load lugs accommodate 8-6 AWG copper or 8-4 AWG aluminum conductors. With a 22kAIC rating at 240VAC, it delivers superior interrupting capacity.
Can I use the B350H in a standard residential load center?
No. The Siemens B350H is a bolt-on molded case circuit breaker designed specifically for commercial and industrial panelboards, including Siemens P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5 series. It will not fit in standard residential load centers that require plug-on breakers.
Does the Siemens B350H replace older ITE or Gould versions?
Yes. Siemens acquired the ITE and Gould electrical divisions. The current Siemens B350H serves as a direct drop-in replacement for older ITE and Gould breakers that share the exact same B350H catalog number.
What is the difference between Siemens BL, BLH, and HBL breakers?
These prefixes indicate the short circuit interrupting rating at 240VAC. Standard BL breakers are rated for 10kAIC. BLH breakers like the B350H offer a higher 22kAIC rating, while HBL breakers provide 65kAIC for electrical systems with higher available fault currents.
Is the Siemens B350H HACR rated?
Yes. This thermal-magnetic circuit breaker is HACR rated, meaning it is certified for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment branch circuits.
What are the wire size and torque specifications for the B350H lugs?
The factory lugs accommodate 8 to 6 AWG copper or 8 to 4 AWG aluminum conductors. When installing 6 to 4 AWG wire, Siemens specifies a tightening torque of 50 to 70 inch-pounds. Always refer to the breaker label for exact specifications based on your specific wire gauge.
How is this breaker secured to the panelboard busbar?
The B350H features a bolt-on connection. It secures directly to the panelboard bus using number 10 mounting screws, which require a tightening torque of 25 to 30 inch-pounds. This provides a highly reliable connection in high-vibration commercial environments.
