7 answersWhat is the difference between Siemens CQD and BQD circuit breakers?
Both belong to the same SENTRON frame family and share identical electrical ratings, but they use different mounting methods. The CQD135 is designed for DIN rail mounting or surface bolting in OEM panels, whereas the BQD series is designed for bolt-on installation in Siemens panelboards.
Can I install accessories like shunt trips or auxiliary switches on the CQD135?
No. While Siemens offers field-installable accessories for the CQD frame, they must mount on the left side of the breaker and are not compatible with single-pole models like the CQD135.
Is the Siemens CQD135 suitable for reverse feed applications?
Yes, Siemens CQD series circuit breakers are UL Listed for reverse feed applications, allowing flexibility when routing line and load connections in custom control panels.
How is the CQD135 mounted inside an enclosure?
The breaker is designed to snap directly onto standard 35mm DIN rail. Alternatively, it can be independently bolted directly to a flat surface or backpan inside OEM enclosures.
Is the CQD135 rated for High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting?
Yes, Siemens 1-pole CQD breakers from 15A to 50A are tested and marked for HID lighting applications.
Does the CQD135 carry an HACR rating?
Yes, all 1-pole, 2-pole, and 3-pole CQD breakers from 15A to 100A are HACR marked, making them suitable for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment branch circuit protection.
Is this breaker rated for switching fluorescent lighting?
No. While Siemens CQD breakers carry an SWD (Switching Duty) rating for fluorescent lighting, that rating only applies to the 15A and 20A single-pole models. The 35A CQD135 does not carry an SWD mark.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
