The legacy Square D F-Frame series has been discontinued. Schneider Electric recommends the PowerPact B-Frame series as the modern replacement for FAL and FHL control panel circuit breakers.
How does the FHL26040 mount inside an enclosure?
This is a unit-mount, feed-thru circuit breaker. It secures directly to a backpan or mounting plate using screws and requires wire connections at both the line and load side lugs. It is not compatible with I-Line plug-on panelboards.
What equipment is the FHL26040 designed to be installed in?
It is designed for use in Square D enclosures, switchboards, and OEM control panels that accept legacy F-Frame unit-mount breakers.
What wire sizes and materials do the standard lugs accept?
The factory-installed lugs accommodate 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG copper conductors, or 12 AWG to 1/0 AWG aluminum conductors.
Can the FHL26040 be used in direct current (DC) systems?

Are the trip settings on the FHL26040 adjustable?
No. This breaker features a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. Both the long-time (thermal overload) and instantaneous (magnetic short-circuit) trip points are factory set and cannot be adjusted in the field.
