Built for demanding commercial and industrial loads, this 45-amp miniature breaker utilizes a trip-free mechanism that prevents the contacts from being held closed during a fault. It carries a 10kA interrupt capacity at 240VAC. The device fits Eaton and Cutler-Hammer Type CH panelboards, occupying three standard 3/4-inch pole spaces. It is not compatible with BR series enclosures. An HACR certification makes this unit suitable for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration circuits.

Product FAQs
6 answers
Can I install the CH345 in an Eaton BR series load center?
No. The CH345 is designed exclusively for Eaton and Cutler-Hammer Type CH load centers. It will not fit BR series panels, which require 1-inch wide breakers.
How much panel space does the CH345 require?
This 3-pole breaker requires three standard 3/4-inch pole spaces, taking up a total width of 2.25 inches in a Type CH load center.
Is the CH345 suitable for HVAC equipment?
Yes, the CH345 is HACR rated, making it suitable for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration circuits that require a 45A breaker.
Is there a difference between an Eaton CH345 and a Cutler-Hammer CH345?
No. Eaton acquired Cutler-Hammer, and the CH345 is the exact same breaker regardless of whether it is branded as Eaton or Cutler-Hammer.
How does the CH345 indicate a tripped condition?
Standard Type CH breakers feature a 'Trip to OFF' mechanism. When a fault occurs, the breaker handle moves directly to the OFF position to clearly indicate the circuit has been interrupted.
How does the thermal-magnetic trip mechanism function on this breaker?
The CH345 uses Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) trip functions. The thermal element prevents nuisance tripping on mild overloads, while the magnetic element reacts instantly to severe short-circuit conditions.
