This breaker installs in Eaton Series C panelboards, switchboards, motor control centers, and dedicated F-Frame enclosures. It shares the standard F-Frame footprint, allowing it to fit legacy Westinghouse and Cutler-Hammer distribution equipment.
Can the Eaton FD1090 replace an older Westinghouse FD1090?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse distribution equipment line, and the Eaton Series C FD1090 is a direct, backward-compatible replacement for the legacy Westinghouse FD1090 circuit breaker. It shares the exact same physical dimensions and mounting footprint.
What is the difference between FDB, FD, and HFD 1-pole breakers?
These breakers share the same physical F-Frame dimensions but differ in interrupting capacity. The FDB1090 is rated for 14kAIC at 277VAC, the FD1090 is rated for 35kAIC, and the HFD1090 is the high-interrupting version rated for 65kAIC. You must select a breaker with an interrupting rating that meets or exceeds the available fault current of your system.
Can the FD1090 be reverse fed?
Yes. Standard Eaton Series C F-Frame thermal-magnetic breakers, including the FD1090, are suitable for reverse feed applications.
Is the FD1090 rated for direct current (DC) applications?
Yes. Unlike electronic trip breakers, the thermal-magnetic trip unit in the FD1090 carries a DC rating. It is rated for up to 125VDC, making it suitable for DC control circuits and specific industrial applications.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.

The breaker we purchased was as advertised. The breaker fit perfectly. We purchased reconditioned breaker and it seems to be working properly, accordingly to the golf course maintenance team that supervises the irrigation system.
Next day shipping came quickly even though the 4th of July was coming.
I wish it came with new installations hardware but that isn’t a deal breaker.
