Part of the QPH series, the Siemens Q2125BH is a 2-pole, 125A miniature circuit breaker designed for residential and commercial applications. It provides essential thermal-magnetic protection for electrical distribution systems. This plug-on breaker mounts into Siemens, Murray, EQ, PL, and ES load centers. It serves as a direct replacement for the legacy MP2125H, ensuring seamless panel upgrades. Rated at 22kAIC, it features a common trip mechanism and is HACR rated for HVAC equipment.
What load centers are compatible with the Siemens Q2125BH?
The Q2125BH is designed for use in Siemens EQ, PL, ES, and Ultimate series load centers. It is also fully compatible with Murray load centers.
Can I install the Q2125BH in a GE or Eaton load center?
No. The Q2125BH is not UL listed or designed for use in GE, Eaton, or Square D panels. It should only be installed in compatible Siemens or Murray load centers to maintain safety standards and panel certifications.
Can the Q2125BH replace older Murray or ITE breakers?
Yes. Siemens acquired Murray and ITE, and the Q2125BH is an exact substitute for discontinued 125A, 2-pole, 22kAIC plug-on breakers of the same frame size, such as the Murray MP2125H. It is ideal for servicing older panels.
How many panel spaces does the Q2125BH require?
As a 2-pole QP-frame breaker, the Q2125BH requires two standard 1-inch panel spaces (2 inches total) in a compatible load center.
What does the H in the Q2125BH part number indicate?
The H indicates a high interrupting rating. While standard QP breakers typically have a 10kAIC rating, the Q2125BH is rated for 22kAIC at 240V, providing enhanced protection against severe short circuits.
Does the Q2125BH require a hold-down kit when used as a main breaker?
Yes. When installed as a back-fed main breaker in a load center, the National Electrical Code (NEC) requires it to be secured with a breaker hold-down kit, such as the Siemens ECMBR2, to prevent it from being accidentally dislodged.
Does the Q2125BH provide GFCI or AFCI protection?
No. The Q2125BH is a standard thermal-magnetic circuit breaker that provides overload and short-circuit protection. It does not include Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) or Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) functions.
