Part of the legacy F-Frame series, this 15-amp breaker provides reliable thermal-magnetic LI protection. It mounts into standard Square D I-Line panelboards utilizing a compact 3-inch footprint. Rated at 65kAIC at 240VAC and 35kAIC at 480Y/277VAC, it handles demanding industrial loads. Note that the modern HGA36015 replacement requires 4.5 inches of mounting space, making this original FGA unit essential for existing tight panel configurations. Includes load side lugs.
Which panelboards are compatible with the FGA34015?
This breaker is designed exclusively for Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. It features a plug-on line side connection specific to the I-Line bussing system and cannot be installed in standard load centers like QO or Homeline.
How is the FGA34015 installed in the panel?
It utilizes an I-Line style plug-in connection for the line side, which snaps directly onto the panelboard bus. The load side uses standard mechanical lugs to terminate the outgoing conductors.
What does the G in the FGA34015 part number indicate?
In Square D legacy F-frame breakers, the second letter indicates the interrupting rating tier. The G designates a high interrupting capacity of 65kA at 240V and 35kA at 480V.
What type of wire can be used with the load side lugs?
The factory-installed lugs accept both copper and aluminum conductors ranging from 14 AWG to 4 AWG. Ensure you apply the correct torque specifications listed on the breaker faceplate during installation.
Is the FGA34015 part of a current production series?
The FGA is a legacy molded case circuit breaker. While exact replacements are often available, modern Square D PowerPact H-frame breakers with I-Line connections are typically used for new installations requiring similar specifications.
Does this breaker include ground fault or arc fault protection?
No. The FGA34015 is a standard thermal-magnetic breaker providing long-time and instantaneous trip functions for overload and short-circuit protection. It does not provide GFCI or AFCI equipment protection.
Is this breaker suitable for reverse feeding?
I-Line breakers feature a plug-on line side designed to connect directly to the panel bus. Because of this physical design, they cannot be reverse fed.
Can the trip settings on the FGA34015 be adjusted?
No. This breaker features fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip elements. The long-time and instantaneous trip thresholds are set at the factory and cannot be modified in the field.
