This bolt-on molded case circuit breaker is designed for installation in Siemens P1, P2, and P3 commercial panelboards, as well as compatible switchboards and enclosures. It is not intended for standard residential plug-on load centers.
What is the direct replacement for the discontinued QJ22B100?
The Siemens QR22B100 is the modern direct replacement for this breaker. The QR frame shares the same form and fit but may require a specific mounting kit or deadfront plate adjustment when retrofitting into older P4, P5, or switchboard applications.
Does Siemens offer this 100A breaker with a higher interrupting rating?
Yes. The standard QJ22B100 provides a 10kAIC rating at 240VAC. If your fault current calculations require a higher rating, you can use the QJH22B100 for 22kAIC or the QJ22B100H for 42kAIC.
Can I field-install internal accessories like auxiliary switches or shunt trips on the QJ22B100?
No. Internal accessories for the legacy QJ frame are factory-installed only and cannot be added in the field. If you require field-installable internal accessories, you must upgrade to the newer QR frame equivalent.
Is the QJ22B100 suitable for use on 480V or 277V systems?
No. This breaker is strictly rated for a maximum of 240VAC. Applying it to 480V or 277/480V systems violates its UL listing and creates a severe safety hazard.
What type of protection is provided by the LI trip function?
The LI designation indicates Long-Time and Instantaneous trip functions. This provides standard fixed thermal-magnetic protection, where the thermal element handles gradual overloads and the magnetic element responds immediately to high-level short circuits.
Can the QJ22B100 be reverse fed?
Yes. This breaker is reverse feed capable, meaning it can be safely backfed in applications where power enters through the load side terminals.

Expedited Shipments
