Built for advanced monitoring, this 100-amp molded case circuit breaker features a factory-installed auxiliary switch with 1A/1B contacts. It enables facility managers to track breaker status within complex industrial control panels. The unit mount footprint secures firmly into legacy Square D switchboards. When planning future upgrades, engineers can substitute the modern HGL36100. Delivering a 65kA interrupting capacity at 240VAC, the thermal-magnetic trip unit responds rapidly to faults.

Product FAQs

What does the -1212 suffix indicate on the FHL36100-1212?
The -1212 suffix denotes a factory-installed 1A/1B auxiliary switch. This provides one normally open and one normally closed contact, allowing for remote status signaling of the breaker position.
What is the modern replacement for the legacy FHL36100-1212?
The FHL series is a discontinued legacy F-Frame breaker. The functional replacement is the Square D PowerPacT H-Frame series, such as the HGL36100. Note that a PowerPacT replacement will require a separately installed auxiliary switch accessory to replicate the -1212 signaling functionality.
How is the FHL36100-1212 installed in electrical equipment?
This is a unit-mount, feed-thru circuit breaker. It bolts directly to the backpan of compatible Square D enclosures, switchboards, or motor control centers, and uses lug connections on both the line and load sides. It is not compatible with I-Line plug-on panelboards.
How does the fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit operate on this breaker?
The LI (Long-Time, Instantaneous) trip unit uses a bimetallic strip for thermal overload protection and an electromagnetic assembly for instantaneous short-circuit protection. Both the thermal and magnetic trip thresholds are fixed at the factory and cannot be adjusted in the field.
