Providing comprehensive circuit defense, this 300A three-pole MCCB includes a Micrologic trip unit with Long, Short, Instantaneous, and Ground Fault (LSIG) capabilities. The solid-state design ensures highly repeatable trip curves. This legacy component mounts into Square D I-Line switchboards. For system modernization, it is replaced by the PowerPacT LJA36400U44X, requiring an HNM1BL filler plate and trip unit adjustment to 300A. True RMS sensing prevents nuisance tripping from harmonics.

Product FAQs
7 answers
What type of panelboards or switchboards is the LX36300G compatible with?
This breaker features an I-Line style plug-in connection and is designed exclusively for use in Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. It will not fit standard QO or NQ panels.
What wire sizes and materials are accepted by the lugs on this breaker?
The factory lugs accept either a single conductor from 1 AWG to 600 kcmil or dual conductors from 1 AWG to 250 kcmil per phase. They are rated for both aluminum and copper wiring, making them suitable for parallel runs.
How does the I-Line connection type mount into the panel?
I-Line breakers feature a plug-on design for the line side that snaps directly onto the panel busbar stack. The load side uses traditional mechanical lugs for wire termination. This allows for rapid installation and easy phase balancing.
Does this breaker use a thermal-magnetic or electronic trip unit?
The LX36300G utilizes a solid-state electronic trip unit. This provides highly repeatable trip curves and adjustable settings for precise system coordination compared to standard thermal-magnetic breakers.
What does the G in the LSIG trip function indicate?
The G stands for Ground-Fault protection. This electronic trip unit provides integrated ground-fault sensing for equipment protection, in addition to long-time, short-time, and instantaneous overcurrent protection.
Does the ground-fault protection on this breaker serve as personnel protection?
No. The ground-fault function on this LSIG trip unit is designed for equipment protection against arcing ground faults. It is not a Class A GFCI device intended for personnel protection.
Is the LX36300G still actively manufactured, or is there a direct replacement?
The LX frame is a legacy component. For system modernization, it is typically replaced by a PowerPacT L-Frame breaker, such as the LJA36400U44X. Upgrading to the newer frame requires an HNM1BL filler plate and adjusting the trip unit to 300A.
