The EGB16030 is designed specifically for Square D NF series panelboards. It uses a bolt-on connection to secure directly to the panel bus.
What is the difference between the EDB16030, EGB16030, and EJB16030?
These are all 1-pole, 30A E-frame breakers for NF panelboards, but they feature different interrupting ratings. The EDB16030 is rated at 18 kAIC at 277VAC, the EGB16030 at 35 kAIC, and the EJB16030 at 65 kAIC. The EGB16030 can directly replace an EDB16030 when a higher interrupting capacity is required.
Is the EGB16030 rated for HID lighting and HVAC equipment?
Yes, this breaker is UL Listed as HID-rated for switching high-intensity discharge lighting loads. It is also HACR-rated for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
What are the wire size and torque specifications for the EGB16030?
The standard lugs accept 14-6 AWG copper or 12-6 AWG aluminum conductors. The required tightening torque for the terminal lugs is 3.4 N.m (approximately 30 lb-in).
Can the EGB16030 be backfed in solar installations?
Yes, Square D E-frame breakers like the EGB16030 can be backfed for solar applications. Note that they are rated for AC voltage only and are not suitable for DC applications.
