This breaker is designed exclusively for use in Square D NF series panelboards. It features a bolt-on connection and will not fit QO, Homeline, or I-Line panels.
What are the torque specifications for the EGB14040 load terminals?
The required torque depends on the wire size used. For 14 AWG to 10 AWG wire, torque the terminal to 34.5 lb-in. For 8 AWG to 2/0 AWG wire, torque to 49.6 lb-in. The lugs accept both copper and aluminum conductors.
Does the EGB14040 feature a visual trip indicator?
Yes, Square D E-frame breakers include a Visi-Trip indicator. When the breaker trips, the handle snaps to a midpoint position and a highly visible red indicator appears to help quickly locate the tripped circuit.
What does the G in the EGB14040 part number signify?
In Square D E-frame breakers, the middle letter indicates the interrupting capacity. The G designates a 35 kAIC rating at 277VAC.
Can I substitute an EDB14040 or EJB14040 for this breaker?
Yes, they share the same physical dimensions and mount in the same NF panelboards. However, the EDB14040 has a lower interrupting rating of 18 kAIC at 277VAC, while the EJB14040 offers a higher rating of 65 kAIC at 277VAC. Ensure the replacement meets your facility fault current requirements.

No, this is a standard thermal magnetic breaker providing overload and short circuit protection. It does not include integral equipment ground fault protection (EPD) or arc fault protection.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
