What is the modern replacement for the legacy FAL36035-1212?
For facility upgrades, this legacy F-Frame breaker crosses over to the newer Square D PowerPact H-Frame series, specifically the HGL36035. Note that you will also need to add an auxiliary switch accessory to the new breaker to match the -1212 functionality.
Can I install the FAL36035-1212 in a Square D I-Line panelboard?
No. The FAL36035-1212 is a unit-mount, feed-thru circuit breaker designed for standard enclosures, switchboards, and motor control centers. It does not have the plug-on jaw connections required for I-Line panelboards. For I-Line applications, you need an FA or FH series breaker.
Can the FAL36035-1212 be reverse-fed?
Yes. Standard Square D F-Frame thermal-magnetic breakers are suitable for reverse feeding. Because there are no restrictive LINE and LOAD markings on the terminals, you can connect the incoming power to either the top or bottom lugs.
