How does the BAB3080H connect to the panelboard bus?
It features an extended tang line terminal that bolts directly to the panelboard bus bar for a secure, high-vibration resistant connection. The load side utilizes standard box lugs for your field wiring.
Is the BAB3080H rated for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HACR) equipment?
Yes, Eaton BAB series breakers from 15A to 100A, including this 80-amp model, are fully HACR rated for use with commercial HVAC systems and motor loads.
Can I use this breaker to replace an older Westinghouse BAB3080H?
Yes. Eaton acquired Cutler-Hammer and the distribution equipment lines from Westinghouse. The current Eaton BAB3080H is the exact, direct replacement for older Westinghouse and Cutler-Hammer breakers bearing the same catalog number.

The BAB3080H provides a 10 kAIC rating at 240VAC. If your electrical system requires a 22 kAIC rating, you must upgrade to the QBHW series equivalent (catalog number QBHW3080H), provided your panelboard is designed to accept it.
What wire gauge can the load lugs on this 80A breaker accept?
The load-side box lugs are rated to accept 8 AWG through 1/0 AWG copper or aluminum wire. Ensure you follow the specific strip length and torque values printed directly on the side of the breaker during installation.
