The CA2225 is designed for use in legacy Westinghouse CDP and FDP panelboards, as well as Eaton Pow-R-Line distribution panels.
What hardware is required to add the CA2225 as a new branch circuit in a Westinghouse CDP panel?
Adding a new branch circuit requires a specific Eaton retrofit kit. These kits include the necessary bus connectors, mounting brackets, phase isolators, and hardware to safely mount the breaker to the vintage chassis. If you are simply replacing an existing CA-frame breaker, you can typically reuse the existing mounting hardware.
What does a feed-thru connection mean for the CA2225?
As a feed-thru breaker, the CA2225 uses mechanical lugs on both the line and load sides rather than plugging directly onto a panelboard bus. This requires individual wire conductors to be landed on both ends of the breaker.
What is the modern replacement for the legacy CA2225 breaker?
The CA2225 is a legacy C-Frame breaker. Eaton typically recommends modern F-Frame breakers, such as the FD or FDC series, as replacements. Upgrading to a newer frame style in an existing CDP or FDP panelboard requires a dedicated retrofit mounting kit to adapt the new breaker footprint to the vintage busbars.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.

Expedited Shipments
